Arc Flash is quickly becoming a leading topic in the safety industry. From the building owner to the maintenance crew, the safety of working on live electrical circuits is of great concern. As an Electrical Contractor we have the obligation to always take every precaution when when working on live circuits. If it is not possible to achieve "Zero Energy State" it is necessary to have a live work permit. This may require a permit to be issued from the facility or it may be written by JSI. Never work on live electrical equipment without approval from the jobsite superintendent. I've posted some video clips of Arc Flash Safety below please take a few minutes to view them. 
Injuries like this can be avoided every time. Arc Flash Protective Clothing must always be worn. Don't be careless people are depending on you.
